Hungry, Hungry Hackers (H3) is an applied research competition organized by Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) Cybersecurity, Information Protection, and Hardware Evaluation Research (CIPHER) Laboratory. H3 staff work to create games and challenges that give students a hands-on experience in the realm of cybersecurity. An understanding of potential threats is essential to the building of secure systems. One cannot defend against what one does not know.
The H3 program educates our community in the specifics of hacking such as vulnerability analysis and exploitation. Most devices and software used on a daily basis – from smartphones, to vehicles, to AI, to the largest most widely encompassing social networking channels in history – can be compromised if we fail to properly train our future engineers.
H3 is a Capture the Flag (CTF) competition in which students compete individually to complete challenges in topics including: Reverse Engineering, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cryptography, Internet of Things (IoT), and more . The event is open to college students and meant to provide them with experience and networking opportunities primarily in the fields of cybersecurity and computer science.
This year’s H3 event is set to take place on November 8th, 2025. There is a registration fee of $30. Our hungry hungry hackers will receive a meals and a chance to win a prize!
