Important Dates and Information

Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) will be hosting a workshop on mass/swarming autonomy. This event has been endorsed by Colonel Keith M. Roessig from INDOPACOM J85 as "crucial for exploring and advancing the operationalization of autonomous capabilities." The event will include talks and discussions from the unclassified to the secret level.

  • Registration Opens: 6/27/2025
  • Tentative Agenda Posted: 8/1/2025
  • Registration Closed: 9/15/2025
  • Final Agenda Posted: 9/15/2025

A memorandum from Colonel Roessig stating his endorsement for MASS@GTRI is attached at the bottom of this website to support government contractors effected by the government travel prioritization.

Wargame Information

At the conclusion of MASS@GTRI GTRI will be hosting an unclassified wargame, Autonomy Reckoning. Autonomy Reckoning is based in a fictional world where two large countries are fighting over the country of Roblandia. Conditions for the wargame are set up to correlate with current and anticipated world conflicts at an operational level. Participants will be split into teams with members from government, academia, and industry to defend Roblandia using autonomous systems. The wargame will be looking to explore questions such as:

  • What infrastructure needs to be in place for successful use of mass autonomy?
  • Is an area more effectively defended with quality or quantity?
  • What is the balance needed between manned and unmanned systems to efficiently and effectively deploy forces?

Following the wargame, a classified discussion will be held to apply lessons learned during the wargame to current world affairs.
